The 12th Annual Cancer and Primary Care Research International Network (Ca-PRI) Conference: May 21-23, 2019

Conference Theme: "Cancer Inequities at Home and Abroad in the Age of Migration: Roles for Primary Care"

The Cancer and Primary Care Research International Network (Ca-PRI) is a multidisciplinary network for researchers in primary cancer care and related areas. The goal of Ca-PRI is to promote greater international collaboration in primary care and cancer research. Ca-PRI welcomes researchers from all disciplines.

The 2019 conference will be hosted by the University of Toronto's Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) in beautiful Toronto, Canada from May 21-23, 2019 on the University of Toronto Campus. This is a unique opportunity for primary cancer care researchers to meet with others to promote greater international collaboration in primary care and cancer research.

The 2019 conference will feature keynote speakers, workshops and other unique highlights, including a welcome reception at the Toronto Aquarium, where presenters will face off in a "Shark Tank". Registration and abstract submission are now open.

Abstract Submission

The 12th Annual Cancer and Primary Care Research International Network (Ca-PRI) Conference is accepting abstracts for workshops (approximately 1 hour in length), ePosters (approximately 3-5 minutes in length), and oral presentations (approximately 15 minutes in length). Please note that you must submit each abstract separately. Topics from all areas of cancer and primary care are welcome, however those that reflect this year’s theme Cancer Inequities at Home and Abroad in the Age of Migration: Roles for Primary Care will be given priority for oral presentations.

In an effort to go green, we will only be accepting ePosters this year. An ePoster is an electronic version of the traditional paper poster, which can become more dynamic with embedded multimedia. You can create your ePoster using many different programs, such as PowerPoint or Adobe Professional.

Welcome Reception and "Shark Tank"

Have you seen the hit show “Shark Tank” and thought to yourself, you have an award winning pitch to give? Please join us at our Welcome Reception and “Shark Tank” on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at the wonderful Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. Participants will have the opportunity to mix and mingle among the intriguing aquatic creatures (including sharks) while voting for their favourite “Shark Tank” pitch. This event is free to attend, however space is limited and only the first 60 people to register will be able to attend.

Ca-PRI Conference Dinner 2019

We hope to see you at our Conference Dinner on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 for an evening of delicious food, music, and networking at University of Toronto’s Hart House. The Conference Dinner is not included in your registration fee and can be booked as a supplementary option.

Accommodations

The 12th Annual Ca-PRI Conference 2019 will be taking place at the University of Toronto Campus in the heart of downtown Toronto, Canada. We have arranged conference rates with three different accommodations nearby the conference. Please book directly with each facility.

University of Toronto’s Chestnut Residence

The Ca-PRI Conference has reserved a block of rooms at University of Toronto's Chestnut Residence, which is centrally located in downtown Toronto. To receive conference rate, reservations must be made by March 21, 2019.

Rooms cost $139 CAD per night (taxes and hotel fees extra) and include a full buffet breakfast. Reservations can be made by emailing frontdesk.chestnut@utoronto.ca or calling (416) 977-0707, Ext 0 and referring to “Ca-PRI” to get the discounted rate. A credit card number will be required to hold the space. Cancellation policy is 48 hours in advance.

The Ca-PRI Conference has reserved a block of rooms at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Toronto Downtown, set in the center of Toronto’s financial, government, research, medical, education and shopping districts. To receive conference rate, reservations must be made by April 30, 2019.
