Mahan Kulasegaram: Beyond Merely Formative: Theory, Data, and Evidence in Using Assessment for Learning

Current trends in medical education have promoted the use of assessment for formative feedback. This talk will discuss how we can further use assessments as opportunities for purposeful learning to benefit students, teachers, and curriculum leaders. This shift requires us to better harness the data we collect on our trainees and to make linkages across educational silos and into the clinical environment. This talk will conclude with a discussion of what clinical outcomes are sensitive educational changes and engagement with UTOPIAN.
