2022 DFCM Award Winners

The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) at the University of Toronto is made up of outstanding individuals dedicated to furthering the discipline of family medicine, whom we take the time to celebrate each fall. We are pleased to recognize once again faculty, staff and learners for their hard work and successes—in clinical care, education, research, leadership and administration.

Congratulations to all our award winners and thank you for your hard work and commitment during a challenging and ever-changing time. Your contributions have helped to make this department one of the leading academic departments of family and community medicine around the world.

Join colleagues, learners and staff for the virtual 2022 DFCM Awards and Celebration Event on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM as we celebrate our faculty members: junior and senior promotion recipients, and Program Award, DFCM Award of Excellence and external award winners.

The event will include a welcome address from Dr. Danielle Martin, DFCM Chair, and messages from select DFCM Award of Excellence recipients and a learner award recipient.

2022 DFCM Celebration Event: Recording now available

Watch the video recording from DFCM's annual Award & Celebration Event, held on Sept. 20, 2022. Hosted by Drs. David White and Melanie Henry, the event celebrated DFCM Awards of Excellence, DFCM Program Awards and external awards. DFCM’s 13 senior promotion recipients were featured in a video compilation. Recipients of four highlighted awards were also featured.

Chair's Message: Marking milestones (June 2022)

As always, we greet the end of the academic year with much to celebrate and much to be grateful for. We introduced our newly-launched Indigenous Leadership Circle, or ILC, in person at DFCM’s first-ever FamilyMed Fest on June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day. Please take 10 minutes to complete our DFCM survey as part of our strategic plan.
